The published business permission covers one running BotHearth installation for your organisation’s own work, including paid client deliverables. It does not expire. The optional work-domain certificate records that same free bot; it does not add another one. The app needs no registration or online activation. Run it on your own infrastructure and connect your own model account.
BotHearth is currently an alpha installed from source on Mac or Linux. A free or paid licence grants source-code use permission, as is. It includes no commitment to support, maintenance, fixes, security patches, updates, hosting, uptime, compatibility or successful results. Model access and infrastructure are separate. Check the setup requirements.
Work-domain certificates
Online certificate claims are not open yet. You can use the published free business permission now, without registration. The steps below describe the certificate flow when enabled.
- Use an email address on a domain your organisation owns. Personal and disposable email services are not eligible.
- Enter the one-time code sent to that mailbox. No password is needed.
- Confirm you are authorised to claim for the organisation and accept the offer terms. Download and retain your licence certificate.
The certificate service groups claims by domain. Once enabled, colleagues signing in on that domain see the existing certificate. The legal allowance remains one free bot per organisation, even if it owns several domains; domain grouping alone cannot identify every related company. Subdomains count together: team.example.co.uk and example.co.uk receive one licence between them.

Free enterprise licence terms
Offer version: 2026-09-09.2. The free offer is available for a limited time and may be withdrawn for future releases or new grants. Existing grants stay perpetual. The BotHearth Business and Output Permission 1.0 grants one free business bot without registration; verification and certificate issuance record that same entitlement.
- Grant. The BotHearth rights holder grants the named organisation a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to run, copy and modify the recorded version for its own business work, including paid client deliverables, on one concurrently running installation. Multiple profiles and sequential tasks within it are included. Inactive backups and replacement hardware are allowed; stop the replaced installation first.
- Eligibility. To obtain the certificate, control a mailbox on the organisation’s own domain and be authorised to represent it. One free bot per organisation, including employees, controlled entities and all domains. Subdomains and additional colleagues share it. A personal claim does not add another free bot to an organisation. Verification proves mailbox access, not legal authority.
- Outputs and restrictions. You may sell reports, code, websites and other outputs that do not contain or derive from BotHearth’s protected code or assets. No output royalties or BotHearth ownership claim apply. Third-party and model-provider terms remain separate. This grant excludes commercial redistribution, resale, sublicensing and providing BotHearth’s functionality as a hosted, managed, white-label, API or customer-facing service. These exclusions apply equally to modified, rebranded and embedded copies. Completed client deliverables are allowed; a customer-facing BotHearth-powered agent service requires a separate signed agreement. Buying a standard US$49 licence does not grant those rights.
- Scope and other rights. Additional business bots require US$49-per-bot grants. Future releases, model access, hosting, support and service levels are not included. The business permission, unchanged PolyForm Noncommercial licence, notices and third-party licences remain separately applicable. A certificate is not a second grant to stack with the published free allowance.
- Duration and warranty. No expiry or renewal fee applies. The business permission’s breach and 32-day first-notice cure terms apply. To the extent permitted by law, the software is supplied as is, without warranties or liability for damages. Nothing excludes mandatory rights. Previously issued certificates keep their accepted terms; this update does not rewrite them.
